Join in fighting cancer

Isis Town and Country - - Opinion -

IT’S time to put on the kettle and raise our tea cups to make a difference in the fight against cancer. Next Thursday is Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, but Queenslanders can boil the kettle and host a morning tea anytime throughout May and June. Thousands of Queenslanders will gather in homes, schools and workplaces to help raise more than $2.5 million for cancer research, education and local support services. There has never been an easier way to show support for more than 25,000 Queenslanders who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. We urge the local community to get involved in this signature campaign – invite your friends and family over for a cup of tea and slice of cake for a good cause. With your generous support we can continue to reach out and offer support, helping Queenslanders to combat cancer. Most of us know someone who has been impacted by cancer – grandparents, parents, siblings and friends. This is our chance to work together and create change. It’s so easy to get involved. Simply make a donation, register to host your own Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, or join in with a friend at www.biggestmorn or 1300 656 585. We need your help this May 28. Together, we can beat cancer. For more information about Cancer Council Queensland, visit www.can or call Cancer Council on 131 120. PROF JEFF DUNN AO
