A STRONG field con­tested the sin­gle stable­ford com­pe­ti­tion in bet­ter than ex­pected con­di­tions with some fine scores recorded.

Ted Buck­land was the over­all win­ner on the day com­ing in with an im­pres­sive 40 points. Keith Rule scored 38 points to be the A di­vi­sion win­ner from run­ner-up Kev Sav­age on 37, with Col Dennett 2nd run­ner-up on 34 points. Kev Den­ham won best nine holes with 21 points.

Roger Draper won B Di­vi­sion with 35 points from Val Plath on 34 points, run­ner-up on a count­back from 2nd run­ner-up Chris Fitzsi­mons. Bob Champ­ney recorded 19 points to win best nine holes.

The ap­proaches were won by Bill Cowan (0.52m) for the men on 1&10; Cyn­thia Draper (0.18m) for the women on 6&15; Craig Reynolds (0.275m) for the com­bined ap­proach on 4&13.

Col Dennett led the Chook Run win­ners with 30 net from Ted Buck­land on 31, Mon­ica Mad­sen, Norm Plath, Barry Steinke, Kev Den­ham (33 each) , with Chris Fitzsi­mons (34) win­ning the last bird on 34 net. Next Tues­day we play a two-per­son Am­brose, choose your part­ner. The usual noon hit-off.
