Get in shape for annual fun run

Isis Town and Country - - News -

IT’S that time of year to get out the joggers and sign up for the Friendlies Cane2Coral fun run and walk.

The annual event will be held on August 2 and the lead-up will be made easier with a new fitness program.

Friendlies Cane2Coral (FC2C) president Jason Pascoe said the 10-week program was free to all FC2C participants across the Wide Bay-Burnett region.

The Ready Set Go program kicked off on May 23 with weekly training sessions in Bundaberg and Hervey Bay, and fortnightly in Maryborough, Childers, Gin Gin, Gayndah and Munduberra; nutritional and training advice through FC2C website; and admission to Bundaberg YMCA gym facilities for the 10 weeks.

Mr Pascoe said another new feature was A Day in the Desert, a camel racing event sponsored by The Waves on June 13.

“This will be a fun day out for the whole community with seven camel races... activities for the kids and food and variety market stalls,” he said.

READY SET GO: Organiser Jason Pascoe, runner Jason Chester and organiser Michelle Stowe-Connor are hoping for a record crowd at this year’s Cane2Coral.
