Shine a light on Childers

Isis Town and Country - - Life - By PETRA DE JONG

INSPIRED by the people I have met and the recent Childers G’Day Enjoy Your Stay Project, I have started a new website aimed at highlighting the positives in the region and I want your help.

The new portal website Visit Childers is a response to what I have learnt about Childers in the past few months while I met people to share their stories as a contributor for Community Corner in the Isis Town & Country.

With Visit Childers, I want to shine the spotlight on everything Childers has to offer in one site.

At a meeting hosted by Bundaberg North Burnett Tourism in Childers last week, I was inspired by speaker Steve Burns.

“Burnsie” spoke passionately about his Nindigully pub, west of St George, and how he turned the remote pub into a destination with a considerable turnover.

Send constructive ideas to visitchilders@out and visit www.visitchilders.
