There will be losers

NO MATTER what decision Bundaberg Regional Council makes regarding the land at 3A North St (Page 3), I think there will be a disappointed party.

Isis District State High School has used the land for years and cultivated a very successful agricultural education program on it which the school says benefits the region.

However, the Childers District Men’s Shed has been working tirelessly for years, without a shed, and after receiving State Government funding late last year is inching closer to finally having a home.

The school claims it was only made aware of plans for the land on May 1 at a meeting convened by the Men’s Shed, which if true, has certainly not helped the situation.

An open conversation between council, the school and the Men’s Shed the moment this became a possibility could have averted the disappointment to come.
