A CHILLY morning greeted the 18 Childers players who took to the field against the Lighthouse in the first of this year’s competition games at Oakwood Golf Course.

The chill factor of the wind coming off the river made it uncomfortable to say the least and this showed in the scores.

Oakwood managed to record an average score of 100.11 whilst the best we could do was 105.31 leading us in the competition by 5.2 points, with many scores well over what one usually expects from the players.

We did manage to take out second place overall in the gross score with Michael Stanton holding up our end coming in Second beaten by countback for First and also taking out the Least Putts. Hoss Eberl also managed to take out a few of their nearest the Pins and Approach Shot prizes.
