Gin Gin up­grades

A TO­TAL of $1.3 mil­lion has been al­lo­cated to a num­ber of projects in Gin Gin.

Bund­aberg Re­gional Coun­cil an­nounced it would pro­vide $900,000 for an up­grade to the Gin Gin Wa­ter Treat­ment Plant and $200,000 for an up­grade to the Gin Gin Recre­ation Re­serve, in­clud­ing the devel­op­ment of the skate park and other im­prove­ments.

Coun­cil­lor Wayne Honor said he was de­lighted with the fund­ing an­nounce­ments.

“We have a very good mix of projects on track for Gin Gin and sur­round­ing ar­eas over the com­ing 12 months, but I am par­tic­u­larly de­lighted with the up­grade to the wa­ter treat­ment plant,” he said.

The Gin Gin pool will have the old ameni­ties block re­moved and a new one built at a cost of $100,000.

An­other $40,000 has been al­lo­cated to the Gin Gin Li­brary for the in­stal­la­tion of ad­di­tional shelv­ing.

“A project that has been very im­por­tant to me and to the com­mu­nity is the Wat­tawa Walk­way and the Tir­roan Bike­way,” Cr Honor said.

“I am de­lighted coun­cil has an­nounced fund­ing of $60,000 to ex­tend the bike­way.”
