Devils poised as Brothers dominate

Isis Town and Country - - Sport -

ISIS Devils had the bye last weekend giving players the chance to recover from their loss to Hervey Bay the week before.

At the midway point of the Bundaberg Rugby League season Devils have won five games and lost four.

The side showed in round 2, with its emotional win against Hervey Bay, that it could match it with the top teams in the competition.

Consistency will be key for Isis going forward as it certainly has the talent on the park.

But there can be no doubt the form team of the competition right now and the team to beat is Brothers.

Brothers stamped its mark on the season with a comprehensive 56-22 win against Hervey Bay under lights.

There wasn’t any aspect from the game Brothers wasn’t better in with a ruthless attack and punishing defence on display.

At Salter Oval, Wests went on a second-half scoring spree and flogged a disappointing Wallaroos 56-14.

Meanwhile, Waves Tigers pulled off a morale-boosting win against Easts 24-14.

Easts and Waves Tigers are the struggling teams of the BRL and the early stages of the game showed why with mistakes littering play.

There are no matches this weekend, games resume the following week with: Easts v Isis; Hervey Bay v Wests; Waves v Wallaroos.
