Scott War­ren com­pleted this years cham­pi­onship with a score of 24 un­der par to take out his 16th con­sec­u­tive club cham­pi­onship. Ge­off Bran­don was the B-grade cham­pion while Jim Man­der­son Snr was the C-grade cham­pion and the Ladies ti­tle went to Mar­got Tud­den­ham.


THE fi­nal two rounds of the cham­pi­onships were played in cooler and windier con­di­tions. Clin­ton saved his best for the week­end, com­ing from be­hind to win the A-grade Men’s cham­pi­onship ahead of Mitch An­der­son. Nett win­ner was Ray Walker with Kev Sav­age run­ner-up. Craig Reynolds main­tained his lead in B-grade to win from Phil Luck­ett, while Norm Plath claimed the nett win­ning prize from Larry Per­shouse. In C-grade Roger Draper steadily in­creased his lead to win C-grade com­fort­ably from Jeff Free­man. Chris­tian Fredrik­sen won the nett C-grade just clear of his brother Curtis – a great ef­fort by the twins. Peter Hut­ton won the men’s 72 hole nett from Michael Stan­ton. In the A-grade women’s cham­pi­onship He­len Ricciardi held her lead to the end, ahead of run­ner-up So­phie Martell – a fine ef­fort by the ju­nior player. Vicki McAu­lay also main­tained her lead over run­ner-up Joy Cart­ner to win the women’s B-grade. Mar­garet Dennett won the women’s A-grade nett from run­ner-up Cyn­thia Draper. In B-grade Mon­ica Mad­sen won the nett tro­phy from Val Plath. Co­ralie Vol­gyesi won the over­all 72 hole nett from Fiona Dowl­ing. He­len also claimed the least num­ber of putts on a count­back from So­phie. The cap­tain has placed the draw for the Seb’s Match Play cham­pi­onship on the no­tice board. The first main round is to be com­pleted on or be­fore July 11. MEN ON Satur­day Michael Stan­ton won the A Di­vi­sion with 71 nett from Norm Plath on count­back. Mark McAu­lay won B Di­vi­sion with 69 nett, also on a count­back from Larry Per­shouse. Run­downs went to Phil Luck­ett, Mitch An­der­son and Curtis Fredrik­sen. Phil Luck­ett (2.24m) won the A Di­vi­sion pin­shot on 1&10 and Larry Per­shouse (0.2m) the B Di­vi­sion ap­proach. On 4&13, Clin­ton Dowl­ing (2.2m) won the A Di­vi­sion pin­shot, with no B Di­vi­sion player land­ing his drive on the green. On Sun­day Chris­tian Fredrik­sen scored nett 67 to win the com­pe­ti­tion from Clin­ton Dowl­ing on 69, with run­downs go­ing to Peter Steel (70), Peter Hrelja (71), Phil Luck­ett, Norm Plath and Roger Draper (72). Peter Steel (9.8m) won the A Di­vi­sion pin­shot on 1&10, while Chris­tian Fredrik­sen (0.13m) won the B Di­vi­sion ap­proach. No player landed his drive on the green on 4&13. This Satur­day the club spon­sors a sin­gle stable­ford af­ter four rounds of stroke over the past two week­ends. WOMEN ON Thurs­day Kerry Sch­nack with 42 points fin­ished two points clear of Diane Rowley with run­downs go­ing to Cyn­thia Draper and Val Plath. Joy Cart­ner recorded the best nine holes. In the Satur­day Monthly Goblet com­pe­ti­tion So­phie Martell won with 67 nett from Mar­garet Dennett on 71. Run­downs went to He­len Ricciardi (72), Joy Cart­ner (73), Cyn­thia Draper (74) and Fiona Dowl­ing (75). In the sin­gle stroke event played on Sun­day He­len Ricciardi won with nett 69 on a count­back from So­phie Martell, with run­downs to Mon­ica Mad­sen (69), Joy Cart­ner (70) and Mar­garet Dennett (74). He­len (0.48) also won the ap­proach. JU­NIORS THIS week ju­nior golfers par­tic­i­pated in Monthly Medal. In the 9 hole event, Wes­ley Hin­ton was able to go one shot clear of Xavier Free­man to win the 9 hole Monthly Medal (on his birth­day too). Cooper Re­hbein set a blis­ter­ing pace in his first 3 holes and was able to win the 6 hole Monthly Medal. A spe­cial con­grat­u­la­tions to Phynn Boase who won the 3 hole Monthly Medal, with an amaz­ing gross score of 18. VETS IN the chal­leng­ing stroke ver­sus par com­pe­ti­tion most play­ers strug­gled to reach a pos­i­tive re­sult. Nigel Radin man­aged to fin­ish square with par and win A Di­vi­sion, with Kev Den­ham run­ner-up on mi­nus 1. Norm Plath won best nine holes. Vicki Wyeth had the best score of the day with plus 3, with Joan Kelly run­ner-up on plus 1. Mark McAu­lay had the best nine hole score with plus 2. Leigh Hart (0.5m) won the men’s ap­proach on 1&10; Robyn Robin­son the women’s ap­proach on 6&15; Nigel Radin on 4&13. Chook Run win­ners were led by Mick Ryan (29 nett), Mark McAu­lay (31), Vicki Wyeth (32), Mon­ica Mad­sen (33), Mar­garet Dennett and Ian McKay (34) on a roll. SO­CIAL LAST Sun­day saw 19 play­ers take the field . We played a Stroke and Putt game over the front nine with Scotty White talk­ing out first place on a count­back from Terry Smallman both on 34 with Scotty los­ing 2 off his hand­i­cap and Terry in sec­ond los­ing 1.5. Third was Col Dennett with 35 and los­ing 0.5. Scotty man­aged to win the least Putts as well with 13 and Adam Smith the B-grade Ap­proach on the 1st and Terry Smallman the B-grade Long­est Drive.
