ON TUES­DAY mem­bers played in the Woodgate spon­sored V.I.P. Monthly Stroke com­pe­ti­tion. The un­set­tled weather changed for the bet­ter; the sun ap­peared, the rain dis­ap­peared and a balmy af­ter­noon fol­lowed. The scores changed for the bet­ter too. In A Di­vi­sion Larry Per­shouse (re­cently pro­moted) recorded 68 nett to win from Barry Steinke on 71 and Keith Rule on 73. In B Di­vi­sion Ted Buck­land and visi­tor Max Bar­ton recorded 65 nett each, with Ted win­ning on a count­back. Third was Ken Al­bion on 71. Marg Den­nett recorded 73 nett to win the Women’s Di­vi­sion on a count­back from Joy Cart­ner, sec­ond in a count­back from Cyn­thia Draper. Ap­proach win­ners were: Paul McCar­ragher (1.12m) on 4&13; Marg Den­nett (0.84m) for the ladies on 6&15; Jack Smith (1.09m) on 1&10. Max Bur­ton led the Chook Run win­ners with nett 32 from Cyn­thia Draper, Jack Smith, Ted Buck­land (33 each) and Ken Al­bion on 34, Many many thanks to our Woodgate spon­sors.
