THEA Hayes, author of An Outback Nurse, will be attending a morning tea at the Childers Library on Wednesday July 1. The city girl impulsively took a job as a nurse on Wave Hill Station in the Northern Territory in 1960. It was a culture shock but Thea thrived and fell in love with the land. This is her memoir of her 20 years in the Australian outback. Join Thea at the library 10.30am. For bookings, contact 4130 4650.
