Lose yourself to the rhythm

Isis Town and Country - - Childers Festival -

PREPARE to lose yourself to rhythm.

A young group of Brazilians living in Brisbane playing sounds from their homeland, Som de Calcada translates to “sounds from the sidewalk/footpath”.

This is a fitting tribute to their exotic, hypnotic sound, featuring an acoustic mixture of old and new MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira). There’s also Forro (a more tropical, folkloric sound which has a similar feel to reggae), plus the samba – the most well-known rhythmic style. The ensemble comprises acoustic guitar, horns, and light Brazilian percussion.

SOULFUL: Som de Calcada will be performing.
