LARGE fields have be­come the or­der of the day with ev­ery tee used for the shot­gun start to the stroke ver­sus par com­pe­ti­tion, two new mem­bers and two visi­tors round­ing off the field. Mark McAu­lay routed the op­po­si­tion in A Di­vi­sion record­ing a re­mark­able 7 plus, to win from Ray Walker un­lucky to lose with plus 4. Norm Plath won best nine on a count­back. Jack Smith played a plus 5 sec­ond nine to end with plus 1, win­ning from new mem­ber Phil Pearce on mi­nus 2, with Vicki Wyeth win­ning best nine with plus 1. The ap­proach shots were won by Mark McAu­lay (0.41m) for the men on 1&10; Cyn­thia Draper (1.53m) for the ladies on 6&15; Ray Walker (in the hole) for the com­bined on 4&13. Mark led the Chook Run win­ners with nett 29 from Vicki Wyeth (32), Adrian Martin, Ray Walker (33), Michael Stan­ton, Col Den­nett, Barry Steinke and Phil Pearce (34 each. This com­ing Tues­day we celebrate the Monthly V.I.P. Stroke com­pe­ti­tion, this month be­ing spon­sored by Phil Luck­ett and Ken Al­bion with sup­port of friends.
