Festival weekend

Isis Town and Country - - Opinion - Jodie Dixon jodie.dixon@isistcnews.com.au

I WOULD like to start by sincerely apologising to Jake Thompson as his story wasn’t on page18 last week.

To make up for it, the article has been published on page 20. Once again, sorry Jake.

WOW! What a weekend in Childers. It was a jam-packed weekend and seeing everything was tough.

With the months of planning, booking of acts, food vendors and craft products, the Childers Festival was a great success.

The community of Childers should be very proud. The weather was perfect, the crowds were entertained and the choice of food was endless.

The patrons started to flow through the festival from 7am. It was a busy day for all the staff and retailers.

I must say the best buy of the day was $1 coffee from the ladies at the QCWA. Well done ladies, you had many happy customers.

It was great for the festival to have the Queensland Governor, Paul de Jersey, officially open the festival. The crowds gathered to watch his opening speech.

Seeing all the patrons enjoy the tasty treats and soaking up the sun – my guess was there was a lot of sunburnt faces.

Let me know your thoughts on the festival, what did you like the most about this year’s festival or did you leave town for the weekend?
