THIS Tues­day we cel­e­brated the Monthly V.I.P. Stroke com­pe­ti­tion, spon­sored by Phil Luck­ett and Ken Al­bion with sup­port of friends, and the culi­nary tal­ents of Michael Stan­ton. In A Di­vi­sion Kev Den­ham recorded nett 69 to win from Norm Plath on 70 with Dave Robin­son third on 74. Roger Draper won B Di­vi­sion with nett 70; Len Stal­lard run­ner-up on 72 and Ken Al­bion third on 74. Three women recorded 71 nett, with Mar­garet Den­nett win­ning on count­back from Jeanette McKay, run­ner-up on count­back from Vicki Wyeth. On 1&10, Barry Steinke (0.315m) won the A Di­vi­sion ap­proach; Cyn­thia Draper (0.08,) the Women’s ap­proach. Cyn­thia (0.60m) also won the ap­proach on 6&15, while Rose Cochrane (0.28.) won the com­bined ap­proach on 4&13. Roger Draper (nett 30) led the Chook Run win­ners from Phil Pearce, Vicki Wyeth (31), Len Stal­lard (32), Vicki McAu­lay and Jeanette McKay (33) on spins. On a cold driz­zly af­ter­noon, the warm snack was very welcome, with thanks to June for fi­nal­is­ing the dishes – much ap­pre­ci­ated! Next Tues­day mem­bers play a sin­gle sta­ble­ford – hit-off at noon.
