THIS Tuesday we celebrated the Monthly V.I.P. Stroke competition, sponsored by Phil Luckett and Ken Albion with support of friends, and the culinary talents of Michael Stanton. In A Division Kev Denham recorded nett 69 to win from Norm Plath on 70 with Dave Robinson third on 74. Roger Draper won B Division with nett 70; Len Stallard runner-up on 72 and Ken Albion third on 74. Three women recorded 71 nett, with Margaret Dennett winning on countback from Jeanette McKay, runner-up on countback from Vicki Wyeth. On 1&10, Barry Steinke (0.315m) won the A Division approach; Cynthia Draper (0.08,) the Women’s approach. Cynthia (0.60m) also won the approach on 6&15, while Rose Cochrane (0.28.) won the combined approach on 4&13. Roger Draper (nett 30) led the Chook Run winners from Phil Pearce, Vicki Wyeth (31), Len Stallard (32), Vicki McAulay and Jeanette McKay (33) on spins. On a cold drizzly afternoon, the warm snack was very welcome, with thanks to June for finalising the dishes – much appreciated! Next Tuesday members play a single stableford – hit-off at noon.
