NINE­TEEN play­ers took the field on Sun­day on a cold win­ter’s morn­ing with jack­ets be­ing the or­der of the day as the wind picked up dur­ing the game. Ed Con­nell was the win­ner on count­back from 3 other play­ers all on 20 and he man­aged to lose 2.5 with Rhonda Zahn los­ing 2.4 at sec­ond and Paul McCar­ragher los­ing 1.3 at third. Marie Chap­man took out the B-grade Ap­proach on the 10th with Chris Fitzsimons tak­ing out the B-grade Long­est Drive and Scotty White once again tak­ing out the Golden Cir­cle at 3.95m. Paul McCar­ragher rounded out the prizes with the Men’s Ap­proach on the 15th. A happy birth­day to Ken Al­bion on his 79th and still go­ing strong. Next week we will play a Stroke and Putt over the Front Nine tee­ing off at 8am so be there at least 15 mins be­fore to fill out your cards to help the cap­tain. On the 2nd Au­gust 2015 we will be host­ing the Light­house So­cial Club for an 18 hole com­ple­tion to round out the two game tro­phy games we play an­nu­ally. The Light­house holds a com­mand­ing lead over the Childers club so I ex­pect ev­ery­one to play their best to wrest the tro­phy from them. Time to put on the think­ing caps about who you want on the Com­mit­tee for next year as many of the ex­ist­ing Com­mit­tee are not stand­ing again next year like the pres­i­dent, the cap­tain and the trea­surer to name a few.
