NINETEEN players took the field on Sunday on a cold winter’s morning with jackets being the order of the day as the wind picked up during the game. Ed Connell was the winner on countback from 3 other players all on 20 and he managed to lose 2.5 with Rhonda Zahn losing 2.4 at second and Paul McCarragher losing 1.3 at third. Marie Chapman took out the B-grade Approach on the 10th with Chris Fitzsimons taking out the B-grade Longest Drive and Scotty White once again taking out the Golden Circle at 3.95m. Paul McCarragher rounded out the prizes with the Men’s Approach on the 15th. A happy birthday to Ken Albion on his 79th and still going strong. Next week we will play a Stroke and Putt over the Front Nine teeing off at 8am so be there at least 15 mins before to fill out your cards to help the captain. On the 2nd August 2015 we will be hosting the Lighthouse Social Club for an 18 hole completion to round out the two game trophy games we play annually. The Lighthouse holds a commanding lead over the Childers club so I expect everyone to play their best to wrest the trophy from them. Time to put on the thinking caps about who you want on the Committee for next year as many of the existing Committee are not standing again next year like the president, the captain and the treasurer to name a few. Have a great week and see you on Sunday.
