Register for Relay

AS PATRON of Cancer Council Queensland’s Bundaberg Relay For Life, I write to encourage local residents to show their support by registering a team for this year’s event, which is coming up on August 15 and 16. Community action is the key to making a difference in the lives of our friends and families affected by cancer. Bundaberg Relay For Life is one of the largest events in the region, and last year raised more than $157,000 for the cause. All funds raised each year are essential in providing support, hope, advice and localised services for each and every person touched by cancer, like myself. In Wide Bay Burnett, more than 1500 people are diagnosed with cancer each year. With your community support through events like Relay, in 2014 Cancer Council was able to provide phone support to more than 1000 locals, accommodation to 421 locals who had to travel for treatment, and more than 15,000 cancer information and support resources locally, and more. Your support at Relay For Life makes a tangible difference to our community. I urge locals to get together and register a team today. We would love for you to join us at Bundaberg Relay For Life – an inspiring fundraising festival that takes place over 18 hours. The overnight event is packed with action and entertainment for people of all ages, and incorporates reflective and emotional ceremonies. At Relay we walk united, and with one common goal – to make a vital difference in the fight against cancer. Let’s rally together and register for the 2015 Bundaberg Relay For Life, held on August 15–16 at Bundaberg Recreational Precinct. Register online atlayfor or via the Fundraising Hotline, 1300 656 585.
