MEM­BERS en­joyed a club-spon­sored sin­gle sta­ble­ford com­pe­ti­tion, the scores in­di­cat­ing that the course is still play­ing well. Will Martell with 39 points won the com­pe­ti­tion from Roger Draper on 38 and Bob Werne on 37. Run­downs went to Ross Ni­col (36), Michael Stan­ton, Norm Plath (35), Dave Robin­son and Len Stal­lard (34). Steve Cole (15m) won the A Di­vi­sion pin­shot on 1&10, Bill Her­ring (0.7m) the B Di­vi­sion ap­proach, while Will Martell (3.8m) won the A Di­vi­sion pin­shot on 4&13. This week the IGA spon­sored com­pe­ti­tion has been post­poned and we will hold a club day spon­sor­ing a Bisque Bo­gey com­pe­ti­tion with the usual 12.30 hit-off.


THERE was no Thurs­day com­pe­ti­tion due to the Wide Bay Dis­trict Vets Four BBB be­ing held at Isis. This Thurs­day mem­bers will de­ter­mine the com­pe­ti­tion be­fore hit-off at 8.30am. Last Satur­day mem­bers played in the club-spon­sored sin­gle sta­ble­ford com­pe­ti­tion. Lisa Cooney con­tin­ued her win­ing form record­ing 39 points to claim the tro­phy from Robyn Robin­son with 35 points. He­len Ric­cia­rdi (34) claimed the run­down and Cyn­thia Draper (0.76m) won the ladies’ ap­proach on 4 and 13. Next Satur­day the IGA-spon­sored com­pe­ti­tion has been post­poned, so it will be a club day, the com­pe­ti­tion a Bisque Bo­gey for a change.


THIS week mem­bers played in the Michael and Mal­colm spon­sored Monthly VIP sin­gle stroke com­pe­ti­tion. Good scores were recorded as the course is fast and fair. Col Den­nett led the way with a nett 64 to win the A Di­vi­sion com­pe­ti­tion from Phil Luck­ett on 70 and Kev Sav­age on 74. Kev Den­ham won B Di­vi­sion with 68 nett from Ted Buck­land and Adrian Martin, both scor­ing 70 nett with Ted claim­ing sec­ond on count­back. Robyn Robin­son, Lisa Cooney and Mon­ica Mad­sen each recorded 68 nett, with Robyn win­ning on count­back from Lisa, sec­ond on count­back from Mon­ica. Jack Smith won the Brad­man’s for the day. The ap­proaches were won by Phil Luck­ett (0.31m) for the men on 1&10, with Norm Plath (0.57m) run­ner-up; Robyn Robin­son (0.06m) for the women on 6&15, with Mon­ica Mad­sen (0.54m) run­ner-up; Col Den­nett (in the hole) for the com­bined ap­proach, with Kev Den­ham (0.01m) hang­ing over hole to be run­ner-up. Robyn Robin­son and Phil Luck­ett (29) led the Chook Run win­ners from Col Den­nett (31), Co­ralie Vol­gyesi, Adrian Martin and Kev Den­ham (32). Next Tues­day those mem­bers who are not trav­el­ling to Mary­bor­ough will de­cide be­fore play what com­pe­ti­tion will be con­tested. Hit-off at 12 noon.
