KYMM Cole and Barb Jenkins are the Prep teachers at Childers State School.

“We are looking forward to offering further open days for Pre-Prep children in the near future,” Ms Cole said.

Ms Cole and Ms Jenkins believe Prep is the most important year of a child’s formal schooling and are proud of the Prep program they deliver.

At Childers State School the program is designed to create motivated, successful learners… learners for life.

“Naturally for many families the transition into Prep can be an anxious time,” Ms Jenkins said.

“The sole purpose of our open days is to help allay fears and uncertainty for both parents and students,” Ms Cole said.

The dates for these days are Saturday, September 5, from 9–11am and then the following Monday, September 7, and Thursday, September 10, from 1.50–2.50pm.

“The days are being organised to give those families who were unable to attend our first open days the opportunity to visit our rooms,” Ms Jenkins said.

“It is also the perfect time for a return visit for those children who attended our first open days, or for parents who are still deciding to see first hand what we offer your children,” she said.

Parents of Pre-Prep children can phone the Childers State School office on 4192 1333 to place their children on the visitors list. NEW IPAD: Master Kobey enjoys his first day at school.
