MEMBERS played a club-sponsored single stableford competition, with the course still playing well. Kev Savage won the day with 40 points edging Peter Hutton out on 39 points, with rundowns to Keith Rule on 38 and Craig Reynolds on 37. Roger Draper on 19 points won the best nine holes. Norm Plath (3.24m) won the A Division pinshot on 1&10 and Roger Draper (0.67m) the B Division approach. Dave Robinson (2.23m) won the A Division pinshot on 4&13 and Bob Champney (1.41m) the B Division pinshot. This week the postponed IGA sponsored competition will be a single stroke event as a preparation for the upcoming Monthly Medal for September.

THIS week many members travelled to Maryborough with their results to be presented next week. At Isis members decided to play a single stableford competition with the smaller than usual field. Coralie Fay recorded 36 points to win from Adrian Martin on 34 and Kev Savage on 32. Norm Plath (0.44m) won the approach on 1&10; Ray Walker (0.23m) the approach on 4&13. Jack Smith (33) led the Chook Run winners from Adrian Martin and Rose Cochrane (33). Next Tuesday members play a stroke versus par competition as part of the Cooper Cup trophy for 2015.
A SLIGHTLY overcast morning on Sunday with just a spit or two of rain greeted the 30 players who turned out for the Ed Connell 70th birthday bash with an extra bonus of sponsorship by Club Car and Bill Long, the local representative for that company. The winners were Leigh Hart and Bob Fraser with 64.5 points followed closely in second place by Rhonda Zahn and Bob Champney on 64.74 and third after a countback between three groups was Shane Shiffke and Paul McCarragher on 66.5. The winners of the various prize holes and fairways were Col Dennett for the A grade NTP on the 1st/10th, Stuart Aitchison for the B Grade Approach on the 1st/10th, Dave Durie for the A Grade Longest Drive, Adam Smith for the B Grade Longest Drive, Combined Nearest the Pin and Golden Circle on the 4th/13th was won by Bob Champney with a distance of 1.52m, Terry Smallman won the Combined Nearest the Pin on the 6th and Col Dennett the Men’s Approach on the 15th. After the game a light lunch was provided by Ed Connell and his wife Kim with Roz as usual helping in the kitchen and Ed put some money over the bar for the members to celebrate his birthday in style. Next week we will play a Stroke and Putt over the Back Nine teeing off at 8.00am, so be there no later than 7.45am to fill your cards in and allow time for the Captain to organise the foursomes.
