Road rage continues

Isis Town and Country - - Opinion -

FOR more than three years I have been lobbying for something to be done about the Buxton Rd intersection at the Isis. The police do monitor this section of highway with speed cameras. I have been told that this section of road has had no “reportable” incidents, that is no-one has been killed, and it is classed as low priority. Recently, I nearly had a tourist bus run into the back of my car when I when turning left into Buxton Rd. Only last Thursday we had a close shave with a B-double which did not want to come to a stop and managed to squeeze through a tight gap. Your paper reported that this intersection is one of the highest ticketed areas in the district. Need I remind our politicians of all persuasions that something has to be done about this high-revenue earning section before a serious incident? All highway traffic has to pass by this intersection and I am positive that no car entering or leaving Buxton Rd would be speeding in any direction. Merv Hopton
