Community Fund

Isis Town and Country - - Opinion -

WE ALL know community groups have a difficult time raising enough funds these days just to meet their basic needs. There’s rarely enough left over to invest in worthwhile projects, even when doing so would lead to savings in the medium to long-term. Ergon Energy understands the challenges facing not-for-profit groups across regional and rural Queensland and is trying in a small way to help some of them through our Community Fund. Individual groups can apply for grants up to $5000, with $50,000 available in total, for projects that deliver energy efficiency or electrical safety. Last year, 14 groups received grants under this program for a wide range of activities that also raised awareness of the importance of energy efficiency and electrical safety among their members. I want to take this opportunity to remind groups that applications for the next funding round will close at 5pm on Monday, September 14. For more details or to obtain an application form, visit www.ergon.com.au/about-us/community-partnerships /community-fund. Ian McLeod Chief Executive Ergon Energy
