Cook­ing comp at the Flavours fes­ti­val

A FES­TI­VAL first, Bundy Flavours Fes­ti­val and the QCWA Bund­aberg Branch have joined forces for the Bundy Flavours QCWA Cook­ery Com­pe­ti­tion, where all en­tries must high­light a lo­cal, Bund­aberg re­gion in­gre­di­ent dur­ing the event this week­end.

The com­pe­ti­tion is open to am­a­teur cooks and bak­ers and in­cludes three cat­e­gories of slices, Sweet, Savoury and Kids’ Nov­elty, where chil­dren aged 12 and un­der can en­ter with a lo­cal fruit and veg­etable cre­ation.

“We’re keen to pro­mote the use of lo­cal pro­duce and flavours,” Coun­cil­lor Judy Peters said.

“The part­ner­ship with the QCWA Bund­aberg Branch is a won­der­ful op­por­tu­nity for all ages to par­tic­i­pate in cook­ing and us­ing our fresh pro­duce as well as get­ting some help­ful hints along the way.”

En­tries will be judged at the QCWA site at the Bundy Flavours Fes­ti­val this Sun­day at Alexan­dra Park (West) Bund­aberg.

The Bundy Flavours Fes­ti­val will be open from 9am to 3pm.

En­try to the com­pe­ti­tion is free and must high­light lo­cal in­gre­di­ents.

En­try forms can be down­loaded from the fes­ti­val web­site at bund­aber­gre­gion­ -flavours.
