Cooking comp at the Flavours festival
A FESTIVAL first, Bundy Flavours Festival and the QCWA Bundaberg Branch have joined forces for the Bundy Flavours QCWA Cookery Competition, where all entries must highlight a local, Bundaberg region ingredient during the event this weekend.
The competition is open to amateur cooks and bakers and includes three categories of slices, Sweet, Savoury and Kids’ Novelty, where children aged 12 and under can enter with a local fruit and vegetable creation.
“We’re keen to promote the use of local produce and flavours,” Councillor Judy Peters said.
“The partnership with the QCWA Bundaberg Branch is a wonderful opportunity for all ages to participate in cooking and using our fresh produce as well as getting some helpful hints along the way.”
Entries will be judged at the QCWA site at the Bundy Flavours Festival this Sunday at Alexandra Park (West) Bundaberg.
The Bundy Flavours Festival will be open from 9am to 3pm.
Entry to the competition is free and must highlight local ingredients.
Entry forms can be downloaded from the festival website at bundabergregionevents.com.au/events/bundy -flavours.
