To bee or not to bee at Gin Gin Land­care

THE Gin Gin Land­care will be hold­ing a spe­cial stin­g­less or na­tive bee in­for­ma­tion day on Satur­day, Septem­ber 26 from 9am. En­try is a gold coin do­na­tion, with a free morn­ing tea.

The Pizza Van will be on-site selling hot slices of pizza.

The spe­cial speak­ers on the day will be Tony Har­vey from Wide Bay Stin­g­less Bees, Wayne from Bee Na­tive, Bob the Bee Man from Bris­bane and The Green Wiz­ard from Gin Gin Land­care.

Ex­perts will be trans­fer­ring a log colony, split­ting a hive box and dis­cussing hive de­signs, bee so­cial be­hav­iour, nests, life cy­cle, re­pro­duc­tion, swarm­ing, nat­u­ral en­e­mies and po­si­tions and mov­ing hives.

The Green Wiz­ard will speak on three en­dan­gered tree species.

Na­tive plant sales and ex­pert ad­vice will be given by Gin Gin Land­care.
