Littlies bring their friends along to kindy

Isis Town and Country - - News -

BRING a Friend started off as Grandparents Day at schools and kindergartens around the region 20 years ago and in time has gone through a number of changes.

Many children in Childers don’t have grandparents close and many grandparents work, so the day was changed to Bring a Friend.

Children have the opportunity to bring someone special to kindergarten.

“The idea is that all children bring someone special to kindy – a neighbour, godparent, grandparent, aunt or an uncle, someone who doesn’t normally get opportunity to visit the children,” Mrs Campbell said.

The children and the guests enjoyed learning songs and rhymes.

The young hosts performed concerts and guests were entertained for half an hour.

Following the concert the guests were treated to a special morning tea with the children.

The Monday-Tuesday group of children celebrated with 40 visitors and the Thursday-Friday group entertained 20 guests.

Each group performed its own concert.
