Best rowers from re­gion’s schools hit river for Queens­land Schools Re­gatta

STU­DENT rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the re­gion’s high schools will be among the 700-plus rowers from across the state to con­verge on Rock­hamp­ton for the week­end’s Queens­land Schools Cham­pi­onship Re­gatta.

Raced on the Fitzroy River in Rock­hamp­ton to­day, to­mor­row and Mon­day, the re­gatta is hosted by the Rock­hamp­ton and Fitzroy Row­ing Club and Rock­hamp­ton Gram­mar School.

Shalom Col­lege, Bund­aberg North State High School, Bund­aberg State High School, Gin Gin State High School and St Luke’s Angli­can School stu­dent rowers will com­pete in age groups rang­ing from U14s through to U17s and open.

Sin­gle, dou­ble and quad sculls will be con­tested through all age groups, with pairs, fours and eights be­ing con­tested in the se­nior school age groups.
