THE Childers District Men’s Shed Association recently received two fantastic grants from the Australian Government National Shed Development Program.

Each year the Federal Government grants approximately $800,000 to the Australian Men’s Shed Association in the form of development grants.

“Men’s Shed applied earlier in the year for three that were available and to our delight we were successful in two of them,” president Rob Dight said.

“One grant of $6500 will help pay for suitable pathways and ramps for disabled access as well as some internal fit-out works.

“The second grant of $1500 is to be used for the purchase of tools and equipment.

“Men’s Shed are over the moon as these grants will help provide a great venue for the members to experience what a Men’s Shed is really all about.

“Yes, we’ve had some hiccups and delays but remain confident we will soon be able to get on with building the Shed.

“The committee and members thank the Australian Men’s Shed Association for its support in helping us achieve our goals.

“We look forward to a long association with them in the future.”
