Isis Town and Country - - Opinion -

ALEX FRESHWATER Has anyone (especially kids sporting groups) had dealings with the new journo at Isis Town & Country?

DEBBIE WILLS All go for next Saturday. I am getting very excited. There is heaps on, and a huge thank you to everyone for chipping in. A huge thank you to our sponsors. We have over $1600 in cash and prizes for the Talent Show and Car Show, so well worth entering. Heaps of new stalls, a few old ones returning. Bash cars will be in fundraising as will a few other groups, so please support them. Stewarts Buses will be running from Bundaberg and Childers Taxi will be running back and forth from Childers to the Creek (only).

TRACEY JACKSON I’d really appreciate input on when would be the best day and time to organise a public rally against domestic violence. Would it be better to do it on a weekday after school so that families can take part? An early evening (with, for example, a candlelight vigil for the 62 women already killed this year) or would Saturday be a better day? All input would be gratefully received. What I’d really love to see is the men of Childers getting involved. The reality is women and their kids need good men to speak out, to tell other men this behaviour is not okay and to show our kids it’s not okay.

STEPHEN BENNETT It’s that time again! I’m hitting the road for my regular ‘MP Connect’ visits, and this week I’m heading to Childers. Catch me this Thursday, from 11.30am at Kape Centro. Have a coffee on me! Contact my office on 4111 5100.

WENDI GUY We are all struggling in this day’s environment with increasing costs so I’ve created this page where we might be able to help our fellow neighbours with things they may need but can’t necessarily afford or pay a high price for. So if you have anything to give away that you don’t use anymore or want to sell off cheap that may help someone else this is the place to do it. I have changed the name on this page so you can now sell items at any price.

RONALD WAYNE HAMANN Well the guide posts on Bootharh Road didn't last long – two broken off all ready, although not the new ones the council just replaced. Tracks show someone is going straight ahead instead of the extra three or four metres to the intersection. Wait till the council puts a deep drain across behind the guide posts and see how you like that. Maybe you should just grow a brain.

CHILDERS JUNIOR RUGBY LEAGUE Don’t forget the footy break-up. 10th October at Woodgate shelter sheds. Barbecue starts at 11 followed by presentation. Please bring a share plate. Hope to see you there.

CHILDERS FESTIVAL What an incredible festival. We hope you had as much fun as we did. Thanks to everyone who came out to Childers Festival 2015. We’d like to make it even more enjoyable for you next year. Let us know your thoughts.
