WHAT'S ON IN GIN GIN
GIN GIN locals were thrilled with the film Big Hero 6 last Thursday night.
It was the final of three free movies screened by the Bundaberg Regional Council.
The movies raised awareness and funds to support many drought affected Queenslanders.
Cr Wayne Honor opened the evening by paying respect to the traditional land owners and thanked the community for coming out for the screening of Big Hero 6.
“It’s good to see a great turnout for the movie and the funds raised will support other Queenslanders,” he said.
The local SES unit provided a barbecue that proved to be very popular with the crowd.
The popular chicken burger sold out early in the night.
Acting local controller Kellie Bolstad said they were surprised how busy we were.
“It was our first time running a barbecue and I want to thank all the volunteers who assisted with the evening,” she said.
“It was a long day and night for the team and I thank all of them,” she said.
The night ended well with many children asking, “When is the next movie?”
It was the perfect ending to the school holidays for the families in Gin Gin.
