GET your hugs ready, the Isis Pet Resort on Goodwood Rd is set to hold a pet adoption day on Saturday.

The pet motel will host the day of fun with Biggenden’s Red Collar Rescue and Hervey Bay’s Cat Lounge.

A spokeswoman for Red Collar Rescue said the event would be a good opportunity for locals to meet and greet with some four-legged friends.

“We’ll probably have about a dozen dogs,” she said.

“There will be some small, young, big, puppies and older dogs.

“All the Red Collar Rescue people will be there to answer questions.”

The day gives visitors the opportunity to meet all the pets and to ask the experts questions about which breeds might suit their lifestyle best.

New pets can sometimes need time to adjust to their new homes.

On Saturday, visitors to the resort will be treated to market stalls, entertainment, pony rides and a sausage sizzle.

They will also be able to inspect the Isis Pet Resort.

Isis Pet Resort assistant manager Mel Austin said pet owners were always welcome to drop by the resort and check out the facilities.

“We offer a wide range of accommodation including standard rooms, luxury suites and even a VIP lounge,” she said.

She said a point of difference with their business was offering a range of services in addition to boarding – such as exercise options, weight management, obedience training and grooming.

“We use our social media page to keep their families up to date with photos of their pets during their holiday,” Ms Austin said.

The day starts this Saturday at 10.30am to 2.30pm.
