90,000 tonne to har­vest

THE Isis Mill has now pro­cessed 1,191,725 tonnes of cane for the 2015 crush­ing sea­son.

The crop fore­cast in­creased slightly over the last week, with the of­fi­cial es­ti­mate now stand­ing at 1,282,000 tonnes.

This equates to just over 90,000 tonnes left in the field to be har­vested, and the mill has con­sis­tently pro­cessed 10,000 tonnes per day dur­ing the sea­son, which means un­der nor­mal cir­cum­stances the last of the cane should be har­vested by Sun­day, Novem­ber 1.

The weekly CCS con­tin­ued to rise reach­ing 15.69 units. The year-to-date fig­ure is now 14.25 units.

The high­est in­di­vid­ual CCS read­ing for week 19 was 18.48 units which came from the va­ri­ety Q208 1R which was har­vested from a farm lo­cated on the banks of the Bur­nett River in the Wallav­ille area.

The cane va­ri­ety Q208 has con­tin­ued to dom­i­nate the cane sup­ply again this week mak­ing up 27.63% of the sup­ply, which equated to 19,495 tonnes at a weekly av­er­age CCS of 16.09 units.

Share­hold­ers of the com­pany gath­ered at the Isis Mill dur­ing this week for the 118th an­nual gen­eral meet­ing.
