90,000 tonne to harvest
THE Isis Mill has now processed 1,191,725 tonnes of cane for the 2015 crushing season.
The crop forecast increased slightly over the last week, with the official estimate now standing at 1,282,000 tonnes.
This equates to just over 90,000 tonnes left in the field to be harvested, and the mill has consistently processed 10,000 tonnes per day during the season, which means under normal circumstances the last of the cane should be harvested by Sunday, November 1.
The weekly CCS continued to rise reaching 15.69 units. The year-to-date figure is now 14.25 units.
The highest individual CCS reading for week 19 was 18.48 units which came from the variety Q208 1R which was harvested from a farm located on the banks of the Burnett River in the Wallaville area.
The cane variety Q208 has continued to dominate the cane supply again this week making up 27.63% of the supply, which equated to 19,495 tonnes at a weekly average CCS of 16.09 units.
Shareholders of the company gathered at the Isis Mill during this week for the 118th annual general meeting.
