NOMINATIONS are being called for Australia Day Awards in the following categories.
All awardees must be a citizen of Australia and a resident of Childers. Citizen of the Year: Overall winner from all nominations for Citizen of the Year award for 2016.
Winner will be judged from over 25 years of age nominations.
Senior Citizen of the Year:
Outstanding person over 25 who is judged to have been an outstanding community role model in their chosen field.
Shows selfless leadership, and community spirit.
Junior Citizen of the Year: As for senior citizen, but under 25.
Young Citizen of the Year: As for other citizen awards, but under 15.
Senior Sports Person of the Year: Over 25, a team member or individual who has shown outstanding sporting achievements during 2015.
Junior Sports Person of the Year: As for the senior sports person, but under 25.
Young Sports Person of the Year: Same as other sports person, but under 15.
Community Event of the Year: Community event of 2015 – held in Childers primarily but not necessarily only in Childers.
