SOCIAL

Isis Town and Country - - Sport -

A RAINY morning as I left home made me wonder if there would be any players but luckily the rain was localised to my area and we ended up with 23 players. The humidity was very high, with the threat early on of some rain giving way to a sunny morning. Rob Blows managed the course very well, coming in first with 30 and losing 4.0 off his handicap. There was a three-way tie for second, with Dave Durie coming second after a countback with 32 and losing 1.9, and Bill Kirchhof coming third, also with 32 and losing 1.9. The third player on 32 was Leigh Hart, who managed to escape the handicapper’s wrath. The least putts was won by Bob Fraser, the B Grade Approach on the 1st by Domonic Mete, the B Grade longest drive by Hoss Eberl, a monster hit by the way – he must have been reading the excellent articles on golf in the Town and Country. Ross Nicols took out the Combined Nearest the Pin on the 4th, but well outside the Golden Circle mark, and Bill Kirchhof the Combined Nearest the Pin on the 6th. Next week we will play a Single Stableford on the back nine to finish off the official scoring games for this year for Player of the Year and the rest of the prizes which we must get ordered and delivered for early December. The list for the Christmas game and dinner at Maryborough are now finalised and the meals ordered, so if you have forgotten to nominate, it’s now too late. The times etc will be given out the week before the game, which is on December 6, 2015 and followed the week after on December 13, 2015 by Captain’s Day and the general meeting to elect the new members for the 2016 committee. The list of nominations is on the board, so if you want to nominate or nominate someone else, please do so by December 6. Have a great week and see you on Sunday – Paul McCarragher.
