Open on Box­ing Day

THE Na­tional Re­tail As­so­ci­a­tion’s bid for a one-off amend­ment to trad­ing hours to stop a four-day clo­sure for ma­jor re­tail­ers in re­gional Queens­land over the Christ­mas pe­riod has been granted.

The Queens­land In­dus­trial Re­la­tions Com­mis­sion (QIRC) handed down its de­ci­sion to amend the ex­ist­ing rules re­lat­ing to trad­ing on Sun­days and on pub­lic hol­i­days for Christ­mas 2015, to al­low ma­jor re­tail­ers in the ar­eas out­lined be­low, to open on Mon­day, De­cem­ber 28, from 8am to 5pm.

This de­ci­sion per­tains to the fol­low­ing re­gional ar­eas of Queens­land:

Kin­garoy, War­wick, Ayr, Ing­ham, Goondi­windi, Mt Isa, Char­ters Tow­ers, Chin­chilla, Lon­greach, Mur­gon, Roma, Black­wa­ter, Bowen, Childers, Clon­curry, Mis­sion Beach, Pittsworth, Proser­pine, Stan­thorpe, Weipa.

Childers IGA will only be closed on Christ­mas Day and will trade as nor­mal on Box­ing Day from 6am-8pm.
