Isis and terror don’t go together

Isis Town and Country - - News -

WITH terrorism on the minds of millions around the country the humble town of Childers has gone viral over its name.

Isis and its name was thrown into the spotlight thanks to Australia’s popular morning shows.

Seven’s Sunrise and nine’s TODAY show broadcasted from the region for a tiny snippet of the Isis region.

Isis locals stood strong in defence of its name and refusing a name change.

Passionate locals and people from around the country took to social media voicing their opinions on the topic.

Social media was inundated with comments about Isis and its meaning.

The Sunrise Facebook page received 200 comments, many passionate on keeping the name.

Cr Tony Ricciardi spoke out on Sunrise supporting its name and the history of the region.

Anne Winters from Brisbane said Isis Shire had been around longer than the terrorists

David Billy Nicholson said change the name that’s another victory for the grubs and a loss to us.

The region is safe knowing their name is safe for now as social media has voiced its support to not allow terrorists to force their beliefs into their region. The Isis district will stand up and won’t allow terror in their community.
