Tree killer

Isis Town and Country - - Opinion -

RE. NewsMail item on August 7 – “Bushcare planting Trees in Woodgate”. Unfortunately, someone has killed about 60 new trees planted along the foreshore. Of the 300 plus trees planted by Bushcare, only this section of approximately 60 from 5th Avenue north, have mysteriously died. This seems a bit odd to me, as previous attempts to plant trees along this same 100-metre section have met with the same fate. The trees filter the salt wind on the houses, provide shade on the path and beach, promote grasses to grow beneath them, and attract birds. All of these advantages don't seem to matter to some people it seems. If the perpetrators of this crime are found, then they should be charged as a criminal. The beach belongs to all, not just a few self-serving individuals. Graham Haras Woodgate
