TODAY we played our annual Christmas party game at Maryborough over 18 holes with a traditional Christmas dinner following the game. The day was once again sponsored by club car and thanks to Bill Long once again for his prizes. The weather was kind with just a little breeze to cool thing down a tad. The winner was Hoss Eberl with 42 and for his troubles also won the Mug day competition and a bottle of Bundaberg Rum and a club car umbrella, second was Marg Dennett with 40 and winning a bottle of brandy and a club car umbrella and third, a late inclusion for the game, was Michael Stanton on 39 and winning a Bottle of Bundaberg Red Rum and a club car umbrella. Diane Rowley took out the B-grade Approach on the 5th and Bob Fraser the Combined Approach on the 17th, in the hole mind you and last but not least Paul McCarragher taking out the B-grade Longest Drive, each winning a bottle of wine and an umbrella for their wins. The meal was excellent and full marks to the staff and cooks at Maryborough Golf club. We ran a raffle with over 30 prizes for the member’s with a prize donated by the self-named Three Stooges from Hervey Bay as the main prize and a big thanks to the boys for that and those at the end of the day who didn’t manage to win anything were given a six pack of balls and tees for turning up.
