Mayor helps spread the word at Christmas

Isis Town and Country - - News -

WE’RE looking for businesses and organisations across the region to help us spread the Christmas cheer through the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal.

Bundaberg Regional Council Mayor Mal Forman said Go Christmassy Day on Friday, December 18, was an opportunity to get in to the festive spirit and raise money for a worthy cause at the same time.

“On Go Christmassy Day businesses and organisations are encouraged to dress in their festive finery and staff and customers are able to contribute to the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal through a gold coin donation,” Cr Forman said.

“All of the donations are distributed through Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul Society to provide food hampers, vouchers and toys to families in need during the festive season,” he said.

“It’s an opportunity to enjoy festivity and fun with your work colleagues while making Christmas all the merrier for those less fortunate.”

Cr Forman said businesses that registered receive a poster to display and a money tin label to assist in creating a professional donation tin to display on Go Christmassy Day.

Head to bundaberg.qld. and look for the 2015 Mayor’s Christmas Appeal tab to register via the online form.
