Optimistic for 2016

Isis Town and Country - - Christmas Greetings - MAL FORMAN, Mayor, Bundaberg Regional Council

I’M CERTAIN I echo the sentiments of many people when I say that it’s quite incredible to think that another year has passed us by and Christmas is only days away.

This year, while challenging for council, has been one where we have been able to position many projects in a manner that will enable us to launch into 2016 filled with confidence.

The residents of our region should head into 2016 with an optimistic outlook, buoyed I hope, after sharing a memorable Christmas with family and friends.

We all look forward to the Christmas break as a time to relax and share happy times with those close to us. Sadly, this is not always the case for many people who may find Christmas a cheerless and lonely time.

I know the generosity of residents right across the region has been to the fore in providing cash, groceries and gifts for the less fortunate in our community and I trust these goods distributed through our social networks reach their target and brighten the Christmas period for the recipients.

For many across the region Christmas is a period to acknowledge and strengthen their faith and beliefs.

On behalf of the councillors and staff of Bundaberg Regional Council, may I wish you and your families the best for the festive season and prosperity in the year ahead. Please stay safe and enjoy this holiday time.

Bundaberg City Council Mayor Mal Forman.
