Craig Jackson, Claude Cobbo and Jacob Ben Allen are accused of escaping lawful custody at Stuart, near Townsville, on December 30.

They each also face five other charges from New Year’s Eve as they allegedly fled south.

Police told the court the three allegedly failed to pay a fare owed to Townsville Taxi Service, unlawfully used a Kia Cerato without permission from its owner, Dorothy Dehaan, and failed to stop for police in three separate incidents, firstly at Marlborough, north of Rockhampton, then at Bundaberg West and later at Doolbi, near Childers.

Jackson’s case was adjourned to February 1.

Cobbo and Allen were remanded to appear again in Gympie Magistrates Court next Monday. They will appear in Gympie by video link.
