Nom­i­nate for the Aus­tralia Day Awards

NOM­I­NA­TIONS are be­ing called for Aus­tralia Day Awards in the fol­low­ing cat­e­gories.

All awardees must be cit­i­zens of Aus­tralia and res­i­dents of Childers.

Ci­ti­zen of the Year: Over­all win­ner from all nom­i­na­tions for Ci­ti­zen of the Year award for 2016. Win­ner will be judged from 25 years of age nom­i­na­tions.

Se­nior Ci­ti­zen of the year: Out­stand­ing per­son over 25 years of age who is judged to have been out­stand­ing com­mu­nity role model in their cho­sen field/s. Show self­less lead­er­ship and com­mu­nity spirit.

Ju­nior Ci­ti­zen of the year: Must be younger than 25 years and demon­strate skills sim­i­lar to Se­nior Ci­ti­zen.

Young Ci­ti­zen of the year: Must be younger than 15 and demon­strate sim­i­lar skills to ju­nior and se­nior.

Se­nior Sports per­son of the year: Over 25

Ju­nior Sports per­son of the year: Un­der 25

Young Sports per­son of the year: Un­der 15

Must demon­strate and be a team mem­ber or in­di­vid­ual who has shown out­stand­ing sport­ing achieve­ments dur­ing 2015.

Com­mu­nity Event of the Year: Com­mu­nity event of 2015 – held pri­mar­ily in Childers but not nec­es­sar­ily only in Childers.

Nom­i­na­tions can be sub­mit­ted at True Hard­ware, Cane Grow­ers Of­fice, A1 Realty and the Town and Coun­try Of­fice.

All nom­i­na­tions must be in a sealed en­ve­lope and marked Aus­tralia Day Nom­i­na­tion.

The judg­ing panel will re­main con­fi­den­tial and its de­ci­sions will be fi­nal.
