Nominate for the Australia Day Awards
NOMINATIONS are being called for Australia Day Awards in the following categories.
All awardees must be citizens of Australia and residents of Childers.
Citizen of the Year: Overall winner from all nominations for Citizen of the Year award for 2016. Winner will be judged from 25 years of age nominations.
Senior Citizen of the year: Outstanding person over 25 years of age who is judged to have been outstanding community role model in their chosen field/s. Show selfless leadership and community spirit.
Junior Citizen of the year: Must be younger than 25 years and demonstrate skills similar to Senior Citizen.
Young Citizen of the year: Must be younger than 15 and demonstrate similar skills to junior and senior.
Senior Sports person of the year: Over 25
Junior Sports person of the year: Under 25
Young Sports person of the year: Under 15
Must demonstrate and be a team member or individual who has shown outstanding sporting achievements during 2015.
Community Event of the Year: Community event of 2015 – held primarily in Childers but not necessarily only in Childers.
Nominations can be submitted at True Hardware, Cane Growers Office, A1 Realty and the Town and Country Office.
All nominations must be in a sealed envelope and marked Australia Day Nomination.
The judging panel will remain confidential and its decisions will be final.
