30 talented and unique artists to fill Childers store
CHILDERS locals are known for their creative talents and handicraft work.
A new and exciting pop-up shop has opened for two weeks only at the Paragon Theatre.
Paragon Theatre owner Merissa Craft said Childers had many great artists and she wanted to showcase their work.
“We are looking for 30 talents artists from the region to volunteer their time and to contribute works for sale,” Mrs Craft said.
Currently the Paragon Creative Pop-up Shop has 10 artists on show and Mrs Craft would like to add a further 20 to fill the shop with wares.
The shop will be open from 9am-3pm, seven days a week, for the next two weeks and if there is a lot of community interest the trading hours will be extended.
Store manager and artist Jay Feather said it was a “love job” and all manning the store were volunteers.
“We charge artists a small weekly rent and all proceeds from sales go back to the artist,” Mrs Feather said.
The cosy and inviting shop has space for artists to set up and work on their projects when manning the store.
“We encourage artists to have a look at our Facebook page Paragon Creative Pop up Shop and all interested artists can send a private message,” she said.
Alternatively all interested artists are welcome to phone Mrs Feather on 0403 697 710 or to call into the shop.
“We want to set a high standard on the items put on display and it is a great place if you are looking for gift ideas,” she said.
