Now is the time to nominate for election as mayor or councillor for your region at the local government elections to be held on March 19.
The Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning will be conducting a series of seminars for intending candidates to provide detailed information on becoming a councillor in local government.

One of the ways in which residents can participate in municipal affairs is by attending their local council’s meeting.
Meetings of the council form an integral part of the planning, policy and decision-making process.
The council’s briefing meetings are held every third Wednesday, starting at 9am.
Ordinary meetings of the council are held every third Tuesday, starting at 10am.
Planning Committee meetings are held every third Tuesday, starting at the conclusion of the Ordinary Meeting
Meetings are held in the Council Chambers, 190 Bourbong St, Bundaberg, and are open to members of the public.
