ISIS District Lit­tle Ath­let­ics re­turns to the Childers show­grounds to­mor­row for a Week 3 pro­gram of events fol­low­ing its Christ­mas break.

Club night be­fore the break was dubbed a suc­cess in both jump­ing and throw­ing events, with a new cen­tre record reached for the U9 boys shot put as well as an equalling of the U13 girls long jump record.

The U9 boys shot put record held by Austin Cross­land since 2011/12 at 6.44m was bro­ken not once but twice on the fi­nal night of club com­pe­ti­tion on De­cem­ber 11, 2015.

The new cen­tre record holder is Zac Blanch, who ex­ceeded the pre­vi­ous record by 0.46m when his shot landed at 6.90m.

U13 Jackie Fresh­wa­ter was none the wiser when she equalled Kathryn Cole’s 2007/08 long jump record of 4.24m un­til fi­nal re­sults were en­tered.

The club now re­turns for its reg­u­lar Fri­day night com­pe­ti­tions in readi­ness for the com­ing State Cham­pi­onship qual­i­fy­ing Cen­tral Coast Re­gional Cham­pi­onships be­ing held at the Bund­aberg Ath­let­ics Fa­cil­ity over the first week­end in Fe­bru­ary.

Jackie Fresh­wa­ter has added her name to the record ta­ble.


Zac Blanch now holds the record in shot put.
