Council program will help residents Be Active
THE schedule for Bundaberg Regional Council’s popular fitness program Be Active, Be Alive has been released.
The free eight-week program will be held in parks, pools and open spaces throughout the region from February 1.
Cr Lynne Forgan said the initiative, now in its fourth year, had been extremely popular in the past.
“Be Active, Be Alive is all about promoting healthy lifestyles and encouraging residents to take advantage of public facilities and parks,” Cr Forgan said.
“I’m sure a number of residents have made health and fitness goals for 2016 and this program could be just the ticket to get them started.”
Cr Forgan said professional fitness trainers would provide a range of activities, including high intensity cardio, low impact, yoga and aerobics and aqua aerobics.
“This year we will also be introducing Stroller Fitness classes, which include cardio, circuit, resistance and strength training all with a bub and stroller in tow.
“The program has been designed to appeal to a wide cross-section of the community and fitness trainers are able to incorporate various levels of intensity in to each session.
“Be Active, Be Alive has an easy to follow activity guide, which includes activities like Fitness for Life, Pump your Heart and Mind and Body.”
The program is at bundaberg.qld.gov.au or any Council Service Centre.
Participation in all activities is free however pool fees do apply to aqua aerobics sessions.
