On the in­ter­na­tional stage

DEAN rep­re­sented Aus­tralia in the un­der-25s team at the World Long Range Tar­get Ri­fle Cham­pi­onships held in Ohio, USA, in July 2015. Aus­tralia came third be­hind Great Bri­tain and the USA, beat­ing New Zealand, Canada, Chan­nel Is­lands and South Africa. Dean will cap­tain the Queens­land un­der-25 team at the state cham­pi­onships in Syd­ney later this year. He has also been nom­i­nated to cap­tain the Aus­tralian un­der-25 team to com­pete in the cov­eted Aus­tralia Match which will be held in South Africa in 2017.

Dean is a past stu­dent of St Joseph’s Childers and Shalom Col­lege Bund­aberg. His home is at Ap­ple Tree Creek, and he is un­der­tak­ing a dual de­gree of Civil En­gi­neer­ing and Busi­ness at QUT.

Dean was un­able to be at the awards cer­e­mony due to his study com­mit­ments, but his grand­fa­ther, Vic­tor, kindly of­fered to ac­cept the award on his be­half.
