THE Vets also opened their sea­son on Tues­day, with a VIP Stroke Day spon­sored by Dave and Robyn Robin­son, with an­other large field cel­e­brat­ing the oc­ca­sion. Kev Sav­age won A Divi­sion with nett 34 from Norm Plath 2nd on 34.5 and Nigel Radin 3rd on 35.5 nett. In B Divi­sion Rusty Us­mar won with nett 33.5 from Bill Kirch­hof on 34.5 and Ray Bur­rowes on 35.5. Joy Cart­ner won the Ladies’ Divi­sion with 35 nett from Kerry Sch­nack on 38½, with Marg Den­nett 3rd on a count­back from Vicki McAu­lay and Val Plath. The ap­proaches were won by: for the men on 1 and 10, Nigel Radin (0.79m); for the ladies, Fiona Dowl­ing (0.09m); and in the Com­bined Ap­proach, Bill Her­ring (0.30m). Chook Run win­ners were led by Robyn Robin­son (30 nett), Joy Cart­ner (31), Kevin Sav­age, Rusty Us­mar (32), Craig Reynolds, Ken Al­bion and Bill Her­ring (33) on spins. Dave and Robyn were warmly ap­plauded for their gen­er­ous prizes and tasty snacks.
