PBs and centre records at Little As
ITWOULD seem the U9s found the track a bit slow-going last Friday night (22.1.16) at the Isis District Little A’s club night, but not for young Danielle Adamson (U9) who managed personal bests in both 70m and 400m events.
It was, however, U6s Clancy Morrison-Marshall who beat Adamson’s three personal bests by obtaining personal bests in all of his four events for the evening. Young Clancy dropped 0.7secs and 1.6secs from his 70m and 100m track events. He gained 23cm in long jump and a massive 56cm in shotput.
With a +3.13m throw in discus (12.92m) and +1.05m put in shotput (5.26m) one can only assume that U10 Joey Vella must have undertaken strength training over the Christmas break. Rounding off his achievements for the night include -0.3secs and -0.4secs in 70m and 400m track events. That’s a PB in each of his night’s events as well.
The first centre record for 2016 fell when U13 Kaylee Garrigon’s shotput landed 56cm past her previous PB of 7.22m and 24cm past Ruby Adolf’s 2013/14 record of 7.54cm. She now holds the U13 girls CR at 7.78cm.
Remaining age group highlights include solid participation from tiny tots McKenzie Hamann, Callum Bak, Nicholas Haggett and Vinnie Vella; U7 Isabelle Khaw 1.48m LJ (+10cm), U7 Heidi Brumwell 5.96m dis (+72cm), U8 Marcus Trapp 88cm HJ (+10cm), U9 Jimmy Dyer 10.60m T/jav (+1.73m), U9 Cherie Schultz 2.47m LJ (+15cm), U10 Telesche Brady 3.99m SP (+65cm), U10 Reece Volz 15.32m dis (+1.15m), U11 Jordyn Pershouse 1:39.6min 400m (-1.9sec), U14 Shae Cochrane 5.98m SP (+18cm), and U16 Matthew Haaksma 5.03m LJ (+44cm).
