Investigations continue after Bundy midwife killed in crash
MARYBOROUGH’S Forensic Crash Unit will continue investigations into a crash which claimed the life of 29-year-old midwife Melanie Robinson last week.
Ms Robinson was killed when her black SUV smashed head-on into a truck at Cherwell, near Howard, about 5.40am on February 4 as she was travelling north on the Bruce Hwy.
The 65-year-old driver of the B-double was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Acting Maryborough fire station officer Adrian Massingham described the crash as “nothing but tragic”.
“Another tragic day on our local roads as we’ve attended a fatal accident involving a heavy vehicle and a sedan,” he said.
The crash saw the highway closed for almost eight hours as police, road traffic control, tow-trucks, QFES and SES cleared the remains of both vehicles and spilled diesel fuel from the stretch of road.
