Isis Town and Country - - Sport -

SUNDAY, February 7 brought 17 players to the course for our monthly mug day, which was played over 18 holes. As to be expected, with wet fairways and slower than usual greens, there were a lot of ordinary scores. Once again with the rain holding out for us, everyone had an enjoyable day. The winner for the day went to Ross Nicol, who actually broke par, coming in with 67 and losing 2.1 from his handicap. Second place went to Chris Fitzsimons on 72, losing 1.0 off his handicap with third place, on a countback from Dave Durie, going to Leigh Hart with 73 losing .5. Least putts also went to Ross Nicol. The combined longest drive went to Hoss Eberl. The combined centre fairway shot went to Mac, who also took out the B-grade approach on the 1/10 hole. The combined nearest the pin on 4/13 went to Dave Durie, with the Golden Circle still remaining at 2.95m. The combined nearest the pin on the 6th and missing out on a hole in one by 8 inches went to Len Stallard. Thank you to all those with carts who kept to the tree line and paid some respect to the soggy conditions. A thanks also goes to Adam Smith, who cooked up a nice meal for the players after the game. Next week will be a stroke and putt on the front nine with a 7.30am tee-off.
